How PLN System compares

Survey Software Comparison

Six survey operations products were checked against their published pricing pages in September 2026. This page compares PLN System with what the rest of the category charges, and says plainly where those products do something PLN System does not.

PLN System operational overview dashboard for survey task, planning, activity, and invoice management
A ten-person survey firm pays $65 a month. The same team costs between $90 and $500 a month on the other products checked, depending on how many of them price scheduling, leave, and equipment as separate purchases.

One price for the workspace, not one per seat

Most survey software charges for every person you add, and several charge more for a person who can run a schedule than for one who logs time. PLN charges for the workspace, and one more surveyor is $6 whatever they do.

  • No role-based seat pricing
  • No module locked behind a higher tier
  • Adding someone is an invitation, not a purchase order

The whole survey workflow is in every plan

Task intake, survey planning, crews, instruments, vehicles, absences, field activity, control points, reports, and invoices. Nothing on that list is an add-on, because splitting it up is how a predictable bill turns into an unpredictable one.

  • Crew scheduling, leave, and absence
  • Equipment, vehicles, and calibration dates
  • Invoicing built from the task record
  • Global control point register with photographs

Built by someone who has done the work

PLN System is built by a practising land surveyor in Lithuania. That shows up in the parts that are easy to get wrong: a task can carry a point, a line, or a polygon; the camera guide shows bearing, remaining distance, and position accuracy for the last stretch on foot; the interface runs in nineteen languages, one per person.

  • Native iOS and Android apps, with field activity queued offline
  • Task geometry and control points on one map
  • Nineteen interface languages, one per user

Questions

Common buying questions.

What does survey operations software cost?

For a ten-person firm, the six products checked in September 2026 ranged from about $90 to about $500 a month, depending on how many charged separately for crew scheduling, leave, and equipment. PLN System is $65 a month for the same team, with all three included. At twenty-five people the range widens to roughly $215 to $1,250, against $155 for PLN System.

What happens to the bill when the team grows?

One more surveyor is $6 a month on PLN System, whatever that person does. Elsewhere the figure runs from $5 to $40 and is usually tied to the role: a person who can run the schedule commonly costs two to five times what a person who only logs time costs. That is the difference that compounds as a practice grows.

Is anything held back for a more expensive plan?

No. Every PLN System plan carries the full workflow. Plans differ in how many users and how much storage they include, not in what the software will do. Crew scheduling, leave, equipment, control points, and invoicing are in all of them.

Is there anything PLN System does not do?

Yes. It has no client portal and no public API, both of which some products offer on a higher tier. It does not integrate with accounting software directly; invoices export as PDF and DOCX instead. And it is a subscription, so a firm that would rather buy a perpetual licence outright has better options elsewhere.

Can a team try it before paying?

Yes, for three months from the day the company account is created, with no credit card and no automatic charge. Register and start the same day. Trials elsewhere in the category run seven to fourteen days where they exist at all, and two of the six products checked require a consultation before you can see the software.
